Anvil

The Wooden Pickaxe is the most basic mining tool. It can mine stone, coal ore and other stone-tier blocks. It has 59 durability.

The Stone Pickaxe is an upgrade over wood. It can mine iron ore and lapis lazuli ore. It has 131 durability.

The Iron Pickaxe can mine diamond ore, gold ore, redstone ore and emerald ore. It has 250 durability.

The Golden Pickaxe has the fastest mining speed of all pickaxes but only 32 durability. It can mine the same blocks as a wooden pickaxe.

Diamond Pickaxe

The Diamond Pickaxe can mine obsidian and ancient debris. It has 1561 durability and is required to upgrade to a Netherite Pickaxe.

Netherite Pickaxe

The Netherite Pickaxe is the most powerful mining tool. It has 2031 durability, does not burn in lava, and has knockback resistance.

The Wooden Axe is the most basic axe. It chops wood faster than by hand and has 59 durability.

The Stone Axe is an upgrade from wood. It has 131 durability and deals 9 damage.

The Iron Axe has 250 durability and deals 9 damage. A solid mid-game tool for both chopping and combat.

The Golden Axe chops wood the fastest but only has 32 durability.

The Diamond Axe has 1561 durability and deals 9 damage. Upgradeable to netherite at a smithing table.

The Netherite Axe is the strongest axe with 2031 durability and 10 damage. It does not burn in lava.

The Wooden Shovel is the basic digging tool with 59 durability. Right-click grass blocks to create dirt paths.

The Stone Shovel has 131 durability and digs faster than a wooden shovel.

The Iron Shovel has 250 durability. It digs dirt, sand, gravel, clay and snow efficiently.

The Golden Shovel has the fastest digging speed but only 32 durability.

The Diamond Shovel has 1561 durability. Upgradeable to netherite.

Netherite Shovel

The Netherite Shovel has 2031 durability and does not burn in lava.

The Wooden Hoe tills dirt and grass blocks into farmland for planting crops. It has 59 durability.

The Stone Hoe has 131 durability and tills slightly faster than a wooden hoe.

The Iron Hoe has 250 durability. Good for medium-scale farming.

The Golden Hoe has the fastest tilling speed but only 32 durability.

The Diamond Hoe has 1561 durability. Ideal for large farms.

The Netherite Hoe has 2031 durability and does not burn in lava.

Shears are used to collect wool from sheep without killing them, harvest leaves, vines, tall grass and ferns. They have 238 durability.

Flint and Steel

Flint and Steel creates fire on blocks and activates nether portals. It has 64 uses.

The Fishing Rod catches fish and treasure from water. It has 64 durability and can pull mobs toward you.

A Compass points toward the world spawn point. It can be combined with a lodestone to point to that lodestone instead.

A Clock shows the current position of the sun and moon. Useful when underground to know if it is day or night on the surface.

A Lead (leash) can be attached to most passive mobs to guide them. Tie the other end to a fence to keep them in place.

Name Tags cannot be crafted but are found as loot. Use an anvil to write a name, then right-click a mob to apply it. Named mobs never despawn.

The Spyglass zooms in when used, allowing you to see distant terrain and mobs. It narrows your field of view to a small square.

The Brush is used in archaeology to extract items from suspicious sand and suspicious gravel found in trail ruins, desert temples and ocean ruins.

A Bucket picks up and places water or lava source blocks. Right-click a cow to get milk, or a fish to catch it.

A Map records the terrain around you when activated. Hold it and walk around to fill in unexplored areas.

A Book is used in several crafting recipes including bookshelves and enchanting tables.

A Book and Quill lets you write up to 100 pages of text. Sign it to create a Written Book that other players can read.
