How to Craft Diamond Axe in Minecraft
You need 3 Diamonds and 2 Sticks, plus a Crafting Table to assemble them on. The top row is two Diamonds in the left and middle columns, the middle row a Diamond in the left column and a Stick in the middle column, and the bottom row a Stick in the middle column. That comes out as 1 Diamond Axe. Durability is 1561, and that is how many uses one gets you.
Diamond Axe Item ID and Give Command
The item ID for Diamond Axe is minecraft:diamond_axe. In commands the namespace may be left off, so diamond_axe works too. Checked against Minecraft Java 26.2.

Cheats have to be on for Diamond Axe to appear this way, and the same command works on Bedrock Edition, where the name is written the same.
Repairing Diamond Axe
Those 1561 uses are not the end of the road. Feed Diamond Axe back onto an anvil with Diamond and it comes back up with its enchantments intact.
The grindstone does the same merge for free, at a price: it takes the enchantments with it. Fine for a plain Diamond Axe, wasteful for one you have put levels into.
Mending can go on Diamond Axe, and that is the only repair that costs nothing at all: the experience you pick up flows into the item instead of into your own level, so it never sees an anvil again.
