How to Craft Diamond Pickaxe in Minecraft
With a Crafting Table placed, 3 Diamonds and 2 Sticks are what a Diamond Pickaxe needs. On the grid you want three Diamonds filling the top row and two Sticks stacked in the middle column. You end up with 1 Diamond Pickaxe each time. It holds up for 1561 uses before it breaks.
Diamond Pickaxe Item ID and Give Command
The item ID for Diamond Pickaxe is minecraft:diamond_pickaxe. In commands the namespace may be left off, so diamond_pickaxe works too. Checked against Minecraft Java 26.2.

Repairing Diamond Pickaxe
An anvil and Diamond will restore Diamond Pickaxe long before its 1561 uses run out, and nothing enchanted on it is lost in the process.
There is a cheaper way, and a catch. A grindstone merges two worn Diamond Pickaxe items without costing levels, but it removes every enchantment while it does so.
Mending can go on Diamond Pickaxe, and that is the only repair that costs nothing at all: the experience you pick up flows into the item instead of into your own level, so it never sees an anvil again.

The Diamond Pickaxe can mine obsidian and ancient debris. It has 1561 durability and is required to upgrade to a Netherite Pickaxe. Diamond Pickaxe uses a shaped recipe: the ingredients only work in the pattern shown.
The diamond pickaxe was already in the game in Minecraft Beta 1.0, the oldest release with an English language file to read, so this recipe is at least that old. The recipe itself last changed in Minecraft 1.21.2. Guides written before that release show a different set of ingredients for the diamond pickaxe, so check the grid above rather than the video.
The materials come together from a few sources: you will be working with diamond (mine diamond ore with iron pickaxe) and stick (craft from planks).
