Making a Composter takes 7 Wooden Slabs at a Crafting Table. The top row is two Wooden Slabs down either side, the middle row two Wooden Slabs down either side, and the bottom row three Wooden Slabs. Done once, that is 1 Composter. Fuel value is 300 ticks, putting 43 Composters behind a full stack of 64.
