How to Craft Bowl in Minecraft

Bowl in Minecraft, drawn from the game's own item texture. Crafting mushroom stew, rabbit stew, beetroot soup and suspicious stew.

At a Crafting Table, Bowls ask for 3 Planks. The top row is two Planks in the outer columns and the bottom row Planks in the middle column. Expect 4 Bowls from every craft. Burn it instead and one gives 100 ticks, which means 128 Bowls take a stack of 64 all the way through a furnace.

Bowl Item ID and Give Command

The item ID for Bowl is minecraft:bowl. In commands the namespace may be left off, so bowl works too. Checked against Minecraft Java 26.2.

Give yourself one
/give @p bowl
Give a full stack of 64
/give @p bowl 64
Give it to a named player
/give Steve bowl 1

Cheats have to be on for Bowl to appear this way, and the same command works on Bedrock Edition, where the name is written the same.

Overview

Bowls are containers used for crafting soups and stews. They are returned to your inventory after eating. Bowl uses a shaped recipe: the ingredients only work in the pattern shown.

The bowl was already in the game in Minecraft Beta 1.0, the oldest release with an English language file to read, so this recipe is at least that old.

The materials come together from a few sources: you will be working with planks (craft from logs).

Counting The Stack

One stack is 21 goes at 3 planks each, which totals 84 bowls. The box keeps 1 planks.
